Go-KL bus service to serve new 9km route.
KUALA LUMPUR: A revised route has been introduced for the
green line (KLCC-Bukit Bintang) of the Go-KL free city bus service.
The new 9km route starts at KLCC and passes through Concorde
Hotel, KL Life Centre and Wisma Genting in Jalan Sultan Ismail.
The revision, announced by the Land Public Transport Commission
(SPAD), will also cover routes such as Jalan Raja Chulan, near Pavillion KL,
Jalan Imbi, and Jalan 1/77B Changkat Thambi Dollah, near SMK (P) Bandaraya.
The revised route is part of the Urban Public Transport NKRA
efforts to expand the Go-KL bus route for the benefit of public transport
passengers in the city centre. The new route has 18 stops, five more than the
previous route.
The purple route for Go-KL city bus service remains
unchanged.
Over 14,000 passengers use the free Go-KL bus service daily.
The buses are equipped with free Wi-Fi, disabled-friendly facilities and have
CCTVs installed both on board and facing outwards.
The service has a frequency of five minutes during peak
hours and 15 minutes during off-peak hours. It is part of an added service for
locals and tourists as a seamless connectivity around the city centre and will
set new standards for the bus industry.
