Well, they have actually launched the academy since 11.11.11 (last year) and was formerly known as MATTA School of Tourism. Hopefully this efforts will benefits tourism fraternity in Malaysia.

MATTA LAUNCHES ACADEMY TO PROVIDE SKILLS IN TRAVEL INDUSTRY.
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Association
of Tour and
Travel Agents (Matta) today opened an academy to impart
training and skills for
those involved in the tour and travel industry in the
country.
The Matta Academy, a rebranding of the existing Matta School
of Tourism, is
equipped with facilities for tourism training, emphasising
on the soft skills
needs of the industry
Its board of directors chairman, Datuk Ngiam Foon, said the
move to provide
training was consistent with the academy''s re-branding.
“We have been involved in training for a long time in the
past, under the
name, Matta School of Tourism...so now, we start with a
commitment of resources.
“In order to achive the government target to upgrade human
capital and high
income country in 2020, skills, knowledge and training are
important," he said
at the launch of the academy here.
He said the Matta Academy would be one of the leading
training facilities
for the Travel and Tours Enhancment Course (TTEC), which was
made compulsory by
the tourism ministry, for all travel agents and tour
operators.
"Those who wish to renew their travel agency licence to
enhance the overall
service quality of the travel and tours agents nationwide,
must attend TTEC,”
added Ngiam.
