Sabah tourism industry not affected by armed intrusion:
Masidi.
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s tourism industry is not affected by
the intrusion of Filipino gunmen in Lahad Datu, said Datuk Masidi Manjun.
The Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister said this is
because Kampung Tanduo where the gunmen were being holed up was over 130
kilometres from Lahad Datu town.
“Thus far it is not affecting our tourism sector,” he told
reporters after officiating at his ministry monthly gathering here, yesterday.
Masidi said he had received inquiries from several people
about the situation “and I told them Sabah remains safe and there is no problem
with regards to security”.
He also said the incident did not affect the daily
activities of the people living in and around the area.
These Filipino gunmen have been in Sabah since February 12
this year.
