Melaka Zoo Expected To Attract One Million Visitors This
Year.
MELAKA - The Melaka Zoo and Night Safari is expected to
attract a million visitors this year under its new management since Jan 1.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said this target
was in line with initiatives worth RM8 million to upgrade various facilities
and buildings, as well as cleanliness under the privatisation by Konsortium KKW
Sdn Bhd.
"We hope the Melaka Zoo and Night Safari will be able
to attract one million visitors, with projected ticket collections of RM8
million this year compared to 750,000 visitors and ticket sales of RM3.5
million last year," he said when launching the zoo's new management, here
Friday.
Also present was KKW Sdn Bhd managing director, Datuk
Michelle Ong.
In line with the target, he said the consortium, comprising
Koperasi Hang Tuah Jaya, Koperasi Bela Masyarakat (KOBEMAS) and Wildlife Sdn Bhd
has planned an assortment of programmes to attract visitors such as animal
show, animal feeding programmes, night train and treasure hunt.
