MITM To Draw 70,000 Visitors, Generate Sales Of RM35 Million.
KUALA LUMPUR - The 11th Malaysia
International Travel Fair (MITM) 2012 is expected to attract a visitor turnout
of 70,000 and generate a sales turnover of at least RM35 million.
Chairman of MITM 2012 organising committee, Jackson Thian
said the exhibition will have 303 booths comprising 70 exhibitors from national
and foreign tourism board as well as airline companies.
The three-day travel fair, organised by Malaysian Chinese
Tourism Association (MCTA), will kick off this Friday to Sunday at the Mid
Valley Exhibition Centre here.
Thian said well-known cruise operator, Star Cruise, has
joined the exhibition as one of the main sponsors apart from Taiwan Visitors
Association and Mastercard World Wide while Malaysia Airlines and Firefly
supported the event.
"As the
organiser, we target to sell domestic destinations as Malaysia do have great
tourist spots and entertainment theme park such as Legoland," he said to
the reporters at the press preview, here Thursday.
